How Can severe Migraine Headache Be Treated?

My neighbors daughter is 18 & has been suffering with extreme migraine headaches. She has tried ibuprofen, tylenol, & other over the counter medications but nothing seems to work. I suggested ice packs but she said that it makes it worse. What else can she try to ease the headache enough to get some sleep.

Are you sure they are Migraine type only ? First make sure the diagnosis. In my practice I've found Sumatryptan to be extremely helpful. Though the drug interacts with many other medications. Comes with the name Oratab or Headset.
Please tell her not to take more than one tablet in 24 hours.
Hope she finds relief.
